I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I hold two Master’s degrees: One in Psychology and one in Social Work from the West University of Timisoara, Romania, in addition to a dual Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Work from the University of Bucharest, Romania. I believe that while our past shapes the person that we are today, we must live in the present and have hope for the future in order to fully thrive in life. Our experiences may have shaped the way we think, act, and interact with people close to us, and while we cannot change things that have already happened, we have the power to change how we experience those things today and moving forward.
I have been providing both counselling therapy and assessment in the public sector and in private practice for many years. I have also had extensive experience in conducting psychological assessments used in a legal context, and have provided my expert testimony in court proceedings.
I have worked in a variety of clinical settings during my career and training, including hospital, corrections centres, community agencies, schools, child and youth services, and private practice settings.
Additionally, I have been engaged in supervision of graduate-level students and have appeared as a guest presenter at conferences and as part of community education and outreach programs.
I work with adults, children & adolescents, couples and families, and have expertise in a variety of areas, including (but not limited to):
Relationships, Marriage, Families, and Parenting
Domestic violence and sexual abuse
Trauma and PTSD
Depression, anxiety and mood disorders
I provide therapy in English and Romanian
