COUNSELLING THERAPIST & PRACTICUM STUDENT
Bushra is a psychotherapist in training, in her final year of her Masters of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from York University.
As a graduate student working to complete her practicum requirements, Bushra is clinically supervised by Zohreh Kolahdouza, Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario.
Bushra is experienced in working with adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem/self-confidence and grief. She utilizes and customizes a variety of approaches to therapy including mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and solution focused therapy (SFT).
Bushra's approach is client-centric and cares deeply about their personal development and overall wellbeing. She is skillful and confident in working with individuals from diverse ethnicities and cultural backgrounds, and is compassionate about understanding their unique needs, perspectives and challenges based on their cultural context.
